Terms of Service

makeidpic is an independent, commercially operated tool. We are not a government agency, embassy, consulate, or official photo provider, and no such body has endorsed, certified, or partnered with us.

We guarantee that a photo downloaded from makeidpic matches the size, background, head-position, and file requirements of the specification we display for your chosen country and document, as researched and published on this site.

We do not guarantee that any issuing authority will accept an application containing that photo. Acceptance decisions are made solely by the relevant embassy, consulate, passport office, or other issuing authority, based on criteria and judgment that are entirely theirs.

You may use makeidpic to create a photo of yourself, or of a dependent in your care, for example a parent creating a passport photo for their baby or child. This service is intended for use by adults — it isn't designed for children to operate directly.

You agree not to use this service to create a photo of another adult without their knowledge and permission, and not to use it for any unlawful purpose, including attempting to defraud an issuing authority.

The optional paid tier is unlocked by a single, one-time payment processed through Stripe Checkout, covering one photo — the exact amount, and the currency it is charged in, are displayed on the checkout page before you confirm payment. The payment is spent when that photo is downloaded, and a different photo requires a new payment. It is not a subscription, and nothing renews or recurs. Paying unlocks AI-assisted automation described on our About and FAQ pages; the specific features available depend on your chosen country, since some countries restrict what kind of automation is permitted.

We do not perform, and will not add, cosmetic retouching of any kind, including skin smoothing, teeth whitening, or blemish removal, on any photo, in any country, on any tier.

For the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada, and separately for China, the paid tier is limited to precise automated sizing and cropping — no background replacement, no enhancement, and no server-side processing of any kind. Refunds are available in limited circumstances described in our Refund Policy. Notably, we do not issue refunds because an issuing authority later rejects, delays, or requests changes to an application — that outcome is outside our control and outside the scope of what we guarantee.

This service is provided on an as-is, as-available basis, without warranties of any kind beyond the specification-match guarantee described above. To the fullest extent permitted by law, makeidpic and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including a denied or delayed application, missed travel, or the cost of retaking or resubmitting a photo. Our total liability for any claim relating to this service is limited to the amount you paid us, if any.

The governing law and jurisdiction for these terms depend on the business entity operating makeidpic, which has not been finalized. This section will be completed, with real legal input, before that entity and jurisdiction are set.

We may update these terms as the service changes. We'll post the revised version here with an updated date at the top; continued use of the service after a change means you accept the update.
